Meet the Board
The Service CU Impact Foundation’s Board of directors are dedicated to creating a community where all members have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.
David Araujo – President/Chair
David was named President and CEO in December 2018. He spent time in banking and as a regional finance manager before joining Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU), where he fulfilled multiple senior leadership roles, and led the development of a digital transformation strategy as well as establishing its FinTech Innovation Center. In his current position, David is responsible for leading the strategic vision for the credit union and its new direction in social responsibility. He has a passion for building and sustaining organizational culture focused on delivering an outstanding member experience. David is a US Marine Corps Veteran and also served on the Presidential Honor Guard/Infantryman.
Tyler Pihl – Treasurer
Tyler joined Service Credit Union in 2013 as an internal auditor and currently serves as the VP of Internal audit. Prior to joining the credit union he was in public accounting and has a CPA license. Tyler oversees all aspects of internal audit, risk advisory and the credit union’s Enterprise Risk Management Program.
Wendy Beswick – Vice-President/Secretary
In addition to overseeing the Service CU Impact Foundation, Wendy oversees the credit union’s marketing, communications, and financial literacy. She has 25 years of experience in marketing, with 18 being in the financial services industry, where she has built multiple programs and grown businesses. Wendy has consulted for early-stage technology companies and has experience across Fortune 100s, startups and non-profits across Financial Services, Credit Unions, Hospitality, Commercial Construction and Retail.
Michael Bergeron – Board Member
Michael has spent his entire professional career serving credit union members. With over 40 years of industry experience, more than 36 of those years have been spent at Service Credit Union. He has served in a variety of disciplines, including member services and marketing, and has been in his current role since 2004. Michael is responsible for overseeing all Service CU facilities, the security team, records division, administrative services and finding new locations and getting new branches ready for launch.
May Hatem – Board Member
May oversees the Human Resources and Training areas of the credit union which involves employee development and retention across all levels of the organization. She brings 24 years of experience to this role from the healthcare industry. May’s extensive expertise extends to all aspects of Human Resources management to include employee relations, unemployment, legal compliance, management training and compensation and benefits.
